South Africa: all of Africa in one place

Offering everything from magnificent beaches to safaris and from fine wines to shopping, not to mention a wide choice of extreme sports, South Africa has everything your heart desires.

Long considered one of Africa’s guiding countries, filled with history because of its early European colonization and known above all for the legendary figure of Nobel Laureate Nelson Mandela, South Africa still has an abundance – and unique variety – of flora and fauna, encompassing all the colours, panoramas and characteristics of this continent.

Bathed by both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, South Africa boasts all of the continent’s most characteristic types of vegetation in its interior, with forests and mountains, savannahs with baobabs and acacias that grow to an extraordinary size, the Mediterranean-type scrub known as the veld, the desert with its fascinating landscape, and the rapids and countless waterfalls of its great rivers, attracting rafting aficionados. Its fauna is protected in reserves and parks, some of the first to be established in Africa and now considered among the best-run in the world.

Cape Peninsula, where penguins, albatrosses, seals, whales and white sharks can be observed in their natural habitat, is one of the world’s most stunning promontories. The vibrant city of Cape Town, the Garden Route and the wine country make the region of Cape Town an attraction even for those who do not want go on a safari. The country boasts numerous national parks and reserves, one of the most important of which is the legendary Kruger National Park, a historical destination for safari lovers, where all the biggest and most important African species can be observed.
